Description
Four times a year, the IAPST Virtual Colloquium hosts a Clinical Case Study Discussion — an interactive, peer-focused session designed to bridge theory and practice in psychosexual therapy. Participants are invited to submit and discuss anonymized clinical cases from their own practice, highlighting challenges, interventions, and outcomes.
This collegial space encourages open reflection, professional collaboration, and shared learning across diverse clinical contexts. Cases may involve individuals, couples, or groups and may address any aspect of sexual function, identity, behavior, or relational dynamics. Whether you present a case or contribute to the discussion, this session offers an opportunity to refine clinical thinking, strengthen ethical decision-making, and explore new therapeutic perspectives within a supportive professional community.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify key clinical themes, presenting concerns, and treatment challenges commonly encountered in psychosexual therapy across individual, couple, and group contexts.
- Assess psychosexual case material using ethically sound and clinically appropriate frameworks, including attention to consent, boundaries, cultural factors, and client safety.
- Apply case based clinical reasoning to evaluate intervention strategies, therapeutic responses, and treatment outcomes in psychosexual therapy.
